Puttur, Apr 19: Food and civil supplies officials raided two restaurants here on Tuesday and detected use of unauthorized use of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

Six gas cylinders have seized in the operation.

Speaking the media, the officials said that since the RTO and police had not been taking steps to check the unauthorized use of subsidized LPG to run motor vehicled, of their own accord, they had decided to take action against such misuse.

They also pointed out the official supply of gas for commercial use will be commenced in fifteen days and a gas filling station would start operating in Mangalore.
