Robbie Williams splurges 17.5 mn pounds to buy Winner's mansion

London, Dec 1 (IANS): Singer-actor Robbie Williams splurged 17.5 million pounds on buying late director Michael Winner's former home, a 46-bed mansion in the city's upmarket Holland Park.

It was sold despite Winner, the larger-than-life film director, having believed Woodland House was worth worth 60 million pounds, reports dailymail.co.uk.

Father-of-one Williams, who has been living in Los Angeles with his wife Ayda, is said to have been searching for a home for his family for more than a year.

The 39-year-old star wants his newborn daughter Theodora Rose to have a British passport and education, The Sunday Times reported today.

The couple already owns an 8 million pounds seven-bedroom mansion in Wiltshire, but is believed to want their child, affectionately named 'Teddy', to grow up in London.
