Kundapur, Apr 17: "Youth Pasch" is the journey of a group of youth, accompanying Jesus Christ in his final moments of his sojourn on earth.

This is however a new concept to Mangalore diocese.  But when it was held for the first time, it was indeed a Pasch with difference as it was of the youth, by the youth and for the youth.

The first-ever Youth Pasch of the diocese of Mangalore was held at Don Bosco Tech at Trasi near here.  Youth Pasch was animated by a team of Salesians, that is, Fr Peter Pinto, Fr Kinley D'Cruz, Fr Francis Xavier, Sr Roseline Pereira and Br Simao.

It was a new yet wonderful experience to youth who are from difference parishes and background.

The highlights of the Youth Pasch were:

  • Signing of their commitment
  • Washing of each other's feet
  • A personal encounter with Lord, carrying His Cross
Writing personal letters to God, nailing them to the Cross and reconciling of themselves with God through confession
  • Taking a pledge to live committed Christina lives.
