Udupi, Apr 15: The Good Friday ceremony started at 5.30 pm in Our Lady of Health Church Shirva. The ceremony was held at Don Bosco School Grounds which was attended by more than 2,500 persons. Fr John Barboza was the main celebrant and he was assisted by parish priest Fr Valerian Pinto, assistant parish priest Edwin Correa and Fr Mark. After the ceremony, “Passion of Christ”, a movie on Christ’s passion was screened by ICYM.
Holy Cross Church, Pamboor-Shantipura
The liturgical ceremony began at 4.30 pm on the Church ground and was attended by more than 600 devotees. Fr Joseph Machado parish priest was the main celebrant. Daylong prayers were offered in front of the repository altar
St John the Evangelist Church, Pangala-Shankerpura
The Good Friday ceremony began at 5.30 pm at the Church Ground with more than 1,200 devotees taking an active part in the liturgical celebration. Parish priest Fr Alexander Lobo was the main celebrant. Earlier, the Way of the Cross ceremony was held at 9 am in the on Friday morning.
