Mangalore, Apr 14: Mangalore MLA N Yogish Bhat on Thursday April 13 affirmed that the first international flight will land at Mangalore airport as early as on May 17. He was speaking at a function to release Mangalore Tourist Guide, brought out by Rotary Club of Mangalore at Hotel Moti Mahal. The date for the flight has not been finalised, the MLA said.

A study report has been submitted to the State government with regard to tourism potentiality in the district and recommendations are being implemented.

Speaking on tourism, Bhat said that the coastal districts have ample scope for tourism. DK will promise a great exploration in historical and religious centers besides health tourism.

There is not a single oceanic park in the state, but we have 350 km of beach from Karwar to Mangalore. Rain festival and boathouse cruises also are not explored, the MLA expressed.

Corporation Bank executive director K L Gopalakrishna released the Mangalore Tourist Guide.

Rotary Club of Mangalore president Ajay R Kamath, Tourist Guide editor Dr K Narendra Kamath and finance committee member Prakash Kalbavi were present on the occasion.
