Salman Khan seeks fresh trial in hit-and-run case

Mumbai, Nov 19 (PTI): Bollywood actor Salman Khan today pleaded for a fresh trial before a sessions court in the hit-and-run case, saying the evidence adduced earlier before a magistrate be discarded as he was now facing a more serious charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

Khan's lawyer moved the plea on the grounds that the actor was now being tried for the serious charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The lawyer also said they were not given a chance to cross-examine the witness.

"We should not be prejudiced because of the want of cross-examination of witnesses," he said. But the prosecution called it a delay tactic. Khan was first booked for causing death by negligence but the charge was later upgraded.

This is how the rich and famous bypass the law. Salman khan, u cannot escape the punishment. 11 years have passed by and u hv managed to stay out of jail or any punishment till date. This call for fresh trial is another delay tactic adopted by ur team of lawyers which will keep u out of jail for may be 11 more years. Be a human and accept the charges and then be a BEING HUMAN star.It is time that u give company to sanju baba in the jail.

Earlier he was charged wrongly.Drink and drive and kill the poor people sleeping on the pavement is not negligence, is murder. NO mercy at all.
