Udupi, Apr 7: The Padubidri police have received a complaint against Ashok Kumar, a protestant Christian, who had been holding prayer sessions in his rented house at Kepulu-Mudarangadi along with others between 6 and 8 pm.

The complaint was filed by Krishna Shetty, a poultry farm-owner nearby. Hindu organizations also opposed these sessions, saying that these loud prayers were disturbing public calm and peace.

Following a police complaint, ad-interim PSI C H Ravi summoned the leaders of the organizations, complainants and Ashok Kumar, Ashwini, Santosh, Vincent and others who led the prayers to the station and conducted an enquiry.

The police have settled the issue amicably by pursuing the prayer organizers not to hold prayers in a noisy so as to disturb public peace and to hold them within the church premises only. Both parties have expressed happiness over the peaceful resolution of the issue.
