Puttur, Apr 4: A coolie worker was killed on the spot near bus stand here after a Kerala road transport bus knocked him down on Monday April 3 evening.
The accident took place around 6.30 in the evening. Basavraj (35) hailing from North Karnataka was eating snacks in a eatery beside the main road leading to the bus stand when a Kerala government bus ran over him.
The bus driven recklessly knocked him down and before he could recover, the back wheel of the bus ran over him. As a result Basavraj died on the spot.
His body has now been kept in the government hospital morgue after the autopsy. The Puttur town police have registered a case against the bus driver in this regard.
