Konkani poet Sivananda Shenoy is no more

Kottayam, Nov 9: Prominent Konkani poet from Kottyam P N Sivananda Shenoy breathed his last after a brief illness here in Kottayam in the early hours of Saturday, November 9, 2013. He was 62.

Bestowed with Mathias Family Poetry Award by Kavita Trust in the year 2011, Sivanand had published two collections of poems in Konkani and two collections of short stories in Malayalam.

He was an engineer and retired after working for Kochi Port Trust for several years.

Sivananda Shenoy is an active member of the All India Konkani Parishad. He was a member of the advisory board, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi.

The funeral rites will be held at Kumara Nellore near Kottayam on November 9, evening.
