Mangalore, Apr 2: The District Armed Reserve Police observed State Flag Day and also organized Welfare Day celebrations at the Police Parade ground at Pandeshwar here on Sunday, April 2. It was on this day in 1965 that all police forces under different banners in the State came united under one Act- The Karantaka Police Act.

Following the tradition, the DK police honoured 22 police personnel of the department who retired in the year 2005-06.

Retired director general of police K U Shetty was the chief guest at the programme which was presided over by K S Suresh Babu, IGP Western Range. Superintendent of police B Dayananda and other senior police officers were also present on the occasion.

A health check up camp was also organised for the police department and their families.
