Beltangady, Apr 1: The Block Education Officer (BEO) has recommended the suspension of former headmistress of Padmunja primary school for swindling more than Rs 60,000.

The headmistress Revati, a resident of Urwa Store in Mangalore has been accused of swindling the scholarship money of SC and ST students during her tenure as headmistress of Padmunja School.  However, after her transfer, she has been absconding.

It is quite surprising to know that she managed to do all these within 8 months of her tenure in the school.  It was only on February 1, 2005 that she was transferred to Padmunja School from Nada.

But once the case propped up, she went on a leave without even a prior notice.  Having no other way, the school welfare committee had lodged a complaint against her with the BEO.

After going through the details of the case, the BEO has now ordered her suspension.
