Udupi, Apr 1: Chandraprakash Swarnakar (58) has been appointed as new Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Syndicate Bank for the coming 2 years. He will take in-charge on Saturday April 1.
A post graduate degree holder in commerce, Chandraprakash Swarnakar carries 35 years of banking experience with him. Before being appointed as the CMD of Syndicate bank, he was the managing director of Punjab National Bank at New Delhi.
After securing his masters, he began his career as lecturer in a college at Indore in Madhya Pradesh, before entering Punjab National Bank as probationary officer in 1969.
Ever since he has served in various capacities in the Punjab National Bank before taking up as managing director of the bank on June 18, 2005.
