Lucknow industrial area's draft master plan approved


Lucknow, Nov 6 (IANS): Uttar Pradesh Wednesday approved the draft master plan 2031 of the Lucknow Industrial Development Authority (LIDA), an official said.

The plan envisages an integrated industrial township to be developed on the Lucknow-Kanpur road by LIDA. The township would form an important part of larger Master Plan.

The LIDA board of directors accorded approval to the draft master plan 2031, paving the way for long-term development of organised industrial growth in the Lucknow-Kanpur corridor.

LIDA chairman and chief executive officer Surya Pratap Singh told IANS that there was a tremendous potential of developing the Lucknow-Kanpur industrial corridor on the lines of Noida and Greater Noida.

Singh said timelines should be fixed and public objections should be invited at the earliest.

The Lucknow-Kanpur industrial corridor was proposed to be developed as a counter magnet of the National Capital Region (NCR).
