Mangalore, Mar 30: Superintendent of Police, B Dayananda on Wednesday March 29, released a sticker “Safe pavements – A Crucial Need of the Elderly”, in English and Kannada to create awareness on safe pavements.

Speaking on the occasion he said that the society has a responsibility towards the safety of senior citizens.  He also added that the police personnel have been trained to attend to the problems of senior citizens.

Dr Prabha Adhikari of KMC said that there is a need to generate awareness against unsafe pavements which are a threat to the people.

Shamima Kunil president, Action Group for Elderly, Dr K B Melanta, vice-president, M A Mohan, treasurer and Dr Nanda Kishore were also present.
