Ashiq Abu, Rima Kallingal tie the knot

Kochi, Nov 1 (IANS): Director Ashiq Abu and popular actress Rima Kallingal got married Friday sans any 'filmy glamour' here.

The two had a registered marriage attended by close relatives and a few colleagues.

"I have never mixed my professional life with my personal life and it would be the same," the actress told reporters after signing the marriage documents.

After working as an assistant with director Kamal for a few years, Abu became a full-fledged director in 2009 with Mammootty-starrer "Daddy Cool". Since then he has had a successful career with hits like "Salt N Pepper" and "22 Female Kottayam", which starred Rima.

Kallingal had entered filmdom with "Ritu" in 2009, the same year when Abu became a full time director. So far she has enjoyed a good run with quite a few hits to her credit including "22 Female Kottayam", "Indian Rupee" and "Zachariayude Garbhinikal".

A day before their marriage, they donated Rs. 1 million to a hospital for the treatment of poor patients.

The two had then said that they did not want any gala wedding celebrations and instead used the money for charity.
