Karkala, Mar 24: Divakar Shetty, the accused in the raping of a minor girl near Kervashe of Karkala Taluk, has been arrested.

Thirty-two-year-old Divakar enticed the class IV girl who was returning home from school and abused her on March 11.

A resident of Baildabari, Divakar had taken the girl to a nearby mango grove where he raped her.

While the girl revealed this to the family, a complaint was registered at the police station. Divakar, who was absconding, was arrested by the Karkala police on Thursday March 23.
