Major quake hits Japan


New York, Oct 25 (IANS): An earthquake measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale jolted east coast of Honshu island in Japan Friday, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said. There was no immediate report of any casualty.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 37.1942 degrees north latitude and 144.663 degrees east longitude, Xinhua reported.
