Mangalore, Mar 23: The Karnataka Nataka Academy will celebrate World Theatre Day on Monday 27, March 2006 at Town Hall. This was informed by Academy member V G Pal during a press meet here on Wednesday, March 22.

The programme will be inaugurated by Sri Devi Education Trust president A Sadananda Shetty, Mangala Credit Co-operative Society president K Annaiah Sherigar and Delhi Karnataka Sangha president Saravu Krishna Bhat. Karnataka Karavali Mithra Mandali honorary secretary S Ramesh will be the guest of honour.

‘Mathu Mathu,’ a special programme will be organized in which experts from theatre will speak on various elements of theatre.

Theatre director Rajshekar Rai will speak on Kannada theatre, Maxim Rodrigues will speak on Konkani theatre, while Muddu Moodubell will speak on Tulu theatre and its evolution.

The culture programme that will follow will have theatre presentations from Kannada, Tulu and Konkani theatre. The special attraction will be the drama “AIDS Ideyembudakke Katri Yenu?” will be staged on this occasion.
