Mangalore, Mar 21: Noted writer and editor of 'Anupama' Kannada monthly magazine for women Shahanaz M was conferred with International Women's Day special literary award at Bangalore recently.

The award is given by Rukmanibai Memorial Trust, Bangalore on the occasion of Suvarna Karnataka. "Avala Dhwani" (Her Voice), a collection of poems by Shahanaz was selected for the prestigious award.

The award was presented by S C Tippanna, vice chancellor of Bangalore University at a glittering function held in Bangalore recently.  Former minister B T Lalita Nayak was present on the occasion.
