Mangalore, Mar 21: Eminent theatre activist and play director Jeevanram Sullia has bagged the prestigious “CJK Memorial Award” given by Karnataka Nataka Academy.

Jeevanram, a degree holder from NiNaSam has carved a niche for himself in theatre world as a versatile actor, director, stage and costume designer.

He has directed more than 2,500 street plays, other than directing a number of dramas.  His house "Ranga Mane" has been made into a cultural forum where theatre activists come and discuss at length about the various projects for the survival of the theatre activities.

He has also engaged himself in magic shows, fine art, stage setting etc.  He has rendered yeoman's service as the member of the Karnataka Nataka Academy.
