Mangalore, Mar 18: A Memorandum of Understanding was recently signed by the Indian Coast Guard with Korean Coast Guard with the purpose of curbing acts of transnational crimes at sea like piracy, armed robbery, maritime crimes, trafficking of arms, smuggling and illegal migration at sea and also to tackle marine pollution.

According to a press release by N C Pandey, PRO, Indian Coast Guard, the MoU was signed by Dr Prabhakaran Paleri, director general, Indian Coast Guard and Lee Seung Jae, commissioner general, Korean Coast Guard, at the Coast Guard Headquarters in New Delhi.
