Bantwal, Mar 18: A bitumen laden tanker turned turtle killing one person at Bolangady near Kalladka here in the small hours of Friday March 17.  Four others were injured seriously in the accident.

The deceased has been identified as Radhakrishna Shetty (28), a resident of Mani-Kodaje near here.  The injured have been identified as Anish of Ilantila, Giriappa, a resident of Mani, Murthy and tanker driver Nagraj, a resident of Koratikere near Tumkur

The bitumen-laden tanker was on its way to Tumkur from Mangalore when it overturned at Krishnakodi turn of Bolangady on National Highway 48.  Radhakrishna too was a driver with the same company and was on his way home.  So too Anish and Giriappa who had got into the tanker on the way.

After the tanker turned turtle, the bitumen in the tanker spilt on Radhakrishna, Anish and others.  While Radhakrishna died on the spot, Anish is in critical condition, fighting for life.
