Punit Malhotra floored by Kareena's Punjabi portrayals

Mumbai, Oct 17 (IANS): Choosing Kareena Kapoor for "Gori Tere Pyaar Mein" was an easy choice for director Punit Malhotra as he believes the actress suited the character best.

"Kareena Kapoor is Kareena Kapoor. No one does Punjabi (character) better than her. She is outstanding," the 31-year-old said here Wednesday at the music launch of the film.

"You don't even have to explain the scene to her. You just tell her what you need and she delivers in one take. There is no one better than her which is why she is where she is," he added.

The music of the film has been composed by Vishal-Shekhar.

Punit applauds Kareena's energetic act in the song "Tooh".

"Kareena was very, very excited when she got 'Tooh.' It was the time when she was pepped up on the set. She came with 200 percent energy and that was there all along. If you see the whole song, she has completely nailed it, she is superb," Punit said.

Imran Khan plays Kareena's love interest in "Gori Tere Pyaar Mein", which hits theatres Nov 22.
