Udupi, March 17: With tight security arrangements made in and around the Sri Krishna Temple in order to avert security threat and ensure safety of the devotees, metal detectors and other advanced security gadgets will soon be installed in the temple. This was informed by Udupi deputy commissioner in-charge R Shantharaj.

Security has been beefed up and police forces deputed at the temple. Further private guards in civil dress have also been trained by the district police and will be positioned in the mutt and the Car Street premises.

They will guide devotees while keeping an eye on suspicious persons and abandoned goods.

Security devices like Closed Circuit Television will be installed at the temple for which the temple is willing to bear the expenses.

All business establishments surrounding the temple in Car Street will be shifted to the parking place, behind Rajangana. Mutt authorities have also come forward with a blue print of the proposed shopping complex. Once the shops from Car Street are shifted, the Car Street will be announced as 'Vehicle Free Zone', Shantharaj added.
