Udupi, Mar 17: Janaki A Bhat (48), headmistress of the Hindu Primary School at Pangla near Shankarpura here passed away on Thursday March 16.

Janaki had been rendering her service in the same school for the last 21 years.  An affectionate person, she was one of the most loved and respected teachers of the school.  Children used to recourse to her in pursuit of guidance and knowledge.  Other than being a 'good teacher', she was also known as a good musician.

She was one such rare person who commanded respect not only from the students but also from their parents.  Her sudden death has caste a cloud of gloom in the vicinity.  While students will miss one of their best teachers, the parents will surely miss a person on whom they could bank on to provide good moral values to their children.

She is survived by husband and two sons.
