Mangalore, Mar 17: A daughter distressed by the alcoholic nature of her father ended her life by hanging herself from the roof of her house on Thursday March 15 evening.
Shabeena (20), a resident of Ramnagar near Kunjatbail near here ended her life after being distressed by her father Kasim's drunkardness. She was undergoing a lab technician's course at A J Hospital here.
The police sources said that Kasim used to fight with neighbours while being under the influence of alcohol. Moreover, he used to beat up Sabeena and her mother too. Owing to his alcoholic nature, Sabeena's fee at the college too was long pending.
Distressed by all this she decided to take this extreme step to end her life. On Thursday evening, she hung herself from the roof of her house when family neighours were out of the house.
The Kavoor police have registered a case in this regard.
