Mangalore, Mar 16: The Bajpe Airport has received ISO 14001:2004 certification for its environmental management system.
 
With this certification, Mangalore Airport stands out to be the first airport in South India to be certified both for Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS). Further, the airport is the second airport in the country to get the twin certifications.

The certificate is valid for three years from March 11, 2006. The environmental management system of the Bajpe airport was assessed by International Certification Services (Asia) Private Ltd and the certificate was accredited by Joint Accreditation    system of Australia and New Zealand.
