Moodbidri, Mar 15: "The Alva’s Educaiton institution has been known not only for its academic excellence but also for its sway over sports both at individual and team championship level," said Dr  M Mohan Alva, president, Alva Education Trust, at a press conference held on Monday March 13. 

He was briefing about the achievements of Alva's students at the Mangalore University and Rajiv Gandhin Health University level.  He presented the list of academic and sports achievements of the students.

1.   Rachana of Alva’s Ayurvedic Medical  College secured first rank, a former student of NMPT.and  Govindadas College.
2.   Elaita Pereira of Alva’s College of Physical Training, secured first rank in the South Zone University level Elocution and Debate competition. She is the daughter of Hilary Pereira, Mumbai
3.   The college of nursing secured 100% results and all students passed first class
4.  Other Ranks – At the Mangalore varsity level,  BBM student Shantala secured the third  rank, MSW student Shalini third rank and BFN D student Rashmi bagged first rank.
5    The  MSW batch secured  100% results.
6.  At the national-level cultural competitions held at Kuruksetra in Haryana, the third place was secured in drama and folk dance and second place in cartoons.

The Alva’s institutions have consecutively bagged the Rajiv Gandhi University team championship and Mangalore University team championship for 6 years.

Dr Mohan Alva provides free education to students securing above 90% marks in SSLC.
