Mangalore, Mar 15: Richard Monteiro, who had been accused of murder attempt on ASI Damodar K of Konaje police station, has been acquitted by district sessions court.
Richard had stabbed Damodar K and had also injured constable M Umesh while they had gone to arrest him from his house at Harekala. The incident had taken place on August 28, 2003 night when both the cops were on duty.
The then inspector of Konaje station, H D Mendonca had filed charge sheet against Richard Monteiro after a detailed enquiry into the case.
