Udupi, Mar 14: A mobike rider was killed when a lorry knocked him down at Yenagudde Forest Gate near Katpadi here on Monday March 14 afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Girish (30), resident of Vidyanagar near Mudarangady here.  He was on his way home riding his new bike from Udupi.  His friend Ganesh was riding pillion.  As they reached Yenagudde, a lorry speeding from the opposite direction collided with their bike.  As a result both Girish and Ganesh were fell on the road.  While the former died on the spot, Ganesh sustained serious injuries with a fracture to his right leg.  He is now recuperating at Hi-Tech Hospital here.

Girish who was working in a hotel.  He had bought the bike recently.  A case has now been filed in the Kaup police station in this regard.
