Three killed on railway tracks in Ghaziabad


Ghaziabad, Oct 9 (IANS): Three people were killed on railway tracks in two separate accidents Wednesday in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad district, adjoining the national capital.

The state police said around 11.30 a.m. three people were scuffling on the railway tracks near Murad nagar. Suddenly, seeing the Utkal Express approaching, one person jumped to safety but the other two came under the train engine and were cut into pieces. The survivor fled the spot to avoid police questioning.

The second incident occurred in Rajiv Colony of Loni where one man, Shintu (20), was found with head smashed and legs and arms broken on the Delhi-Saharanpur railway tracks. He probably met with a train accident sometime during the night.

Police officer Jagdish Sharma said the three bodies were sent for post-mortem examination.

The family members of the Loni accident victim were informed. But, the two dead in the Murad Nagar accident could not be identified.
