Iran speaker optimistic ahead of n-talks

Geneva, Oct 9 (IANS): Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani Wednesday said he is looking at next week's Iran nuclear negotiations positively.

"A handful of countries who until very recently were using sanctions and levelling threats against my countries have now opted for a political solution to the whole matter. As I see it, this change in itself is positive," Xinhua quoted Larijani as saying in a press conference.

"If the collective will is at work here, if it takes up a political solution over others, then finding a resolution to the whole problem would not be that difficult a task," said the former nuclear negotiator.

The five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany will resume talks with Iran on its nuclear issues in Geneva on Oct 15-16.
