Nigerian among two nabbed with cocaine worth Rs.1 crore

New Delhi, Oct 7 (IANS): A Nigerian national and an Indian were arrested for smuggling fine quality cocaine, valued at Rs.1 crore, police said Monday, adding the duo were members of a large drug cartel involving Nigerian nationals based in Delhi and Mumbai.

"Vaibhav Gupta, 25, and Joshua Izuu, 28, were arrested with 80 grams of fine quality of cocaine from Peeragarhi in west Delhi Sunday," said a police officer.

Gupta used to procure cocaine with Izuu's help at the rate of Rs.2,000 per gram and sell the same quantity to his clients for Rs.3,500 to Rs.4,000. The clients would contact Izuu on phone for the delivery.

The accused have been procuring other party drugs from various parts of India and supplying these in Delhi and the National Capital Region areas.
