Cabinet approves plan on child nutrition


New Delhi, Sep 24 (IANS): The union cabinet Tuesday approved a proposal for implementation of a programme to address maternal and child under-nutrition in 200 districts, said an official statement.

The programme will target reduction in levels of anaemia among children, adolescent girls and women.

To be completed in the 12th Five Year Plan, the programme, which will cost over Rs.1,200 crore, would bring together various welfare initiatives at the state, district, block and village levels, said the statement.
