12 militants killed near Pakistan-Afghan border


Islamabad, Sep 22 (IANS): At least 12 militants were killed by Pakistani forces near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

The border security forces were patrolling in the Lower Dir area Saturday night when they intercepted a group of heavily armed militants, Geo News reported Sunday citing military sources.

According to the report, two soldiers were also injured in the gun battle.

"Two of the troops who fought off the belligerent radicals were injured during the clash," the report quoted a source as saying.
