Mangalore, Feb 27: Five women and three men were arrested in connection with flesh trade in the Karna Lodge on Old Kent Road at Pandeshwar here on Sunday February 26.

The DCIB police led by inspector Tilakchandra and assisted by women police, raided Karna Lodge on a sure tip off.  While 2 couples were arrested involved in flesh trade, the rest were arrested while luring the customer.

The arrested have been identified as Raju Poojary of Katpady near Udupi, Vijay of Andhra Pradesh, Yaseen, a resident of Kannur in Kerala, Koteshwari, Ramya from Andhra Pradesh, Geeta from Bangalore, Zareena and Sahana from Goa.

The raid by DCIB police has once again proved that flesh trade has once again raised its ugly face in the district.  Many lodges and hotels are providing a roof for men and women involved in flesh trade.

The case has now been handed over to women police station.
