BSF arrests four Maoists in Odisha


New Delhi, Sep 19 (IANS): The Border Security Force (BSF) arrested four Maoists in Odisha, an official statement said Thursday.

Ghasi Badanayak, 26, Samara Mahi, 30, Shib Majhi, 37, and Gadu Shisha, 30, were arrested Wednesday. All are residents of Anagel village in Malkangiri district of the state.

Acting on secret information, the troopers of 161 Battalion along with the local police arrested the four from a local market in Malkangiri.

Maoists are active in more than half of Odisha and the district of Malkangiri, over 600 km from Bhubaneswar, is considered their stronghold.
