Mangalore, Feb 26: Hasan Asif of Karnataka bagged as many as three gold medals in the National Powerlifting tournament for special children held in city from Thursday February 23.
Asif has also registered a national record to its credit. In the age group above 22 years and in the 90 kg and above section, Asif created a national record by lifting 330 kg. His achievement is being considered as national record as no special child has until now has succeeded in this category in any of the tournaments.

Nearly 11 teams from various states of the country are participating in the tournament.

On the first day, the host Karnataka grabbed three first prizes. Sanjay Kumar, Raghunath and Hasan Asif stood first in various divisions.

Results of weightlifting competition in the above 22 years category:

52 kg category
First: Dinesh Kumar of Tamil Nadu (140 kg)
Second: Sunil of Chattisgarh (112.5 kg)
Third: Hemanth Kumar of Karnataka (100 kg)

56 kg category
First: Sanjay Kumar of Karnataka ( 122.017 kg) 
Second: Ajay Pal of Chandigarh (107.294 kg)
Third: Abhishek of Chattisgarh (104.321 kg)

67.5 kg category
First: Naveen Kumar of Andhra Pradesh (95 kg)
Second: Om Jaiswal of Jharkhand (90 kg)
Third: Nirmal of Sikkim (80)

75 kg category
First: Raghunath of Karnataka (155 kg).
Second: Sachin Sharma of New Delhi (142.5 kg)
Third: Rajiv Patnayak of Jharkhand (105 kg)

90 kg category
First: Hasan Asif of Karnataka (330 kg)
Second: Ramakrishna of Andhra Pradesh (140 kg)
Third: Kiran Kumar of Andhra Pradesh (125)

First: Arun Kumar of Tamil Nadu (115 kg)
