Bantwal, Feb 22: Venktesh (57), a first grade clerk at Bantwal taluk panchayat was found dead in mysterious circumstances at Bhandaribettu near here on Tuesday February 22 morning.

His body was found near the Bantwal-Beltangady state highway at Bhandaribettu.  His death has raised several doubts.  Though it is presumed to be a suicide, some sources say that he did not have any reasons to commit suicide.

Venktesh hailed from Hassan and was employed as first grade clerk at Bantwal taluk panchayat.  He was residing in the taluk panchayat quarters at Vittal.

On Monday he had come for duty as usual and after finishing his duty hours left back to his house in the evening.  But it is known as whether he went back to his house or not.

He was married twice but did not have children.  His mysterious death only a few days before his retirement has left many questions behind.

The Bantwal police are investigating the case.
