Mangalore, Feb 19: The Brahmasri Awards will be conferred on the occasion of the second year celebrations of the Brahmasri Narayana Guru Yakshagana Havyasi Balaga on Saturday February 25.

The Brahmasri Award will be conferred on senior Yakshagana artiste Polali Lokayya. On the occasion Shaneeshwara Pooja will also be held.

The event will be held at Urwa Store Maidan where the Shaneeshwara Pooja will begin at 3 pm and the stage programme at 6 pm.

The event will be presided over by Lamina Group chairman N Vinay Hegde.  Karnataka Janapada and Yakshagana Academy president Keremane Shambhu Hegde will inaugurate the event.

Tannir Bavi Power Project director Gopalkrishna, MCC finance committee chairman Premchand, Mangaladevi Temple managing trustee Ramanath Hegde, former mayor Shashidhar Hegde, senior artists Ratnakar Kulkarni and Jayaprakash Rao will be the chief guests.
 
‘Bappanadu Kshetra Mahatme,’ a Yakshagana episode will also be staged.
