Educational films on "...Swami Vivekananda" producer's mind

Mumbai, Aug 31 (IANS): Jagadish Mishra, who has produced "The Light: Swami Vivekananda", based on the life of the late Indian philosopher saint Swami Vivekananda, is keen to make more movies which educate.

"I intend to produce good educational movies with a strong social message for the upliftment of the society," Mishra told IANS.

The main reason behind such a decision is the new generation of filmmakers who are busy aping western movies, the producer said.

"There are so many things to explore. With the new generation trying to adapt and incorporate the western culture and lifestyle, the rich, spiritual and cultural heritage of India is slowly getting eroded from the Indian society," he said.

"The Light - Swami Vivekananda" is directed by Utpal (Tutu) Sinha and stars Deep Bhattacharya in the title role.
