'Scooby-Doo' back on big screen

Los Angeles, Aug 28 (IANS): Warner Bros. will launch a third version of "Scooby-Doo" on the big screen.

After two live-action films, "Scooby-Doo" and "Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed", both of which were received negatively by critics, the studio is developing an animated flick for a release date that remains unknown yet, reports aceshowbiz.com.

Matt Lieberman has been tapped to write the script with Charles Roven and Richard Suckle on board as producers, but no director is currently set to serve behind the lens.

Both the past live-action movies were directed by Raja Gosnell, with Freddie Prinze Jr. as Fred, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Daphne, Matthew Lillard as Shaggy, Linda Cardellini as Velma and Neil Fanning as the voice of the titular dog.
