Dalgado Konknni Akademi press release

Panaji, Feb 9: Dalgado Konknni Akademi (DKA) has organized a Konknni Symbolic Rally at 3-30 pm on Friday, February 10 on Azad Maidan, according to a press release issued by it.

This rally has been organized to demand equal status to Konknni written in Roman script in the Official Language Act, Goa 1987 and to end the injustice done to all other scripts of Konknni by the All India Konknni Parishad.

Eminent social and political leaders will address the rally. Well-known tiarists like Comedian Dominic, Louis Bacchan, Francis de Tuem, Ben Evangelisto, Bab Andrew, Albert Cabral, Mario Menezes, Lawry Travasso, Osvy Viegas, C D Silva, Sharon, Wilmix, Ullas Buyanv and others will entertain the crowd.

Joshino will provide the brass band and music to the entire rally.

DKA earnestly requests all Goans and Konknni-speakers who love and care for the survival of Konknni in Roman script, to attend this rally at Azad Maidan to show their support and solidarity to DKA and to its mission to save Konknni and Goa.

DKA also requests Konknni-lovers to condemn, boycott, and openly show their protest to the Konknni conference organized from February 10 to 12 at Kala Akademi by All India Konknni Parishad which promotes division and communalism in Goa by promoting its demonic fascist principle "One script, one language, one literature and one community", according to the press release..

DKA calls upon all Konkani-speaking people to join hand in hand to save Goa and its language Konknni and to defeat the communal forces of Devanagari script proponents.
