He was speaking at the "Matrushrige Nudinamana", a condolence meet in honour of Matrushri Ratnamma Heggade who breathed her last at a ghastly road accident at Kutlur near Naravi here on Saturday January 21 afternoon.  The condolence meet was held at the auditorium of SDM College at Ujire near here on Monday January 24.

He further said that behind every activity of Shri Kshetra Dharamasthala there was the goodwill and inspiration of Ratnamma Heggade. "Her demise is a loss to the entire society and the void created by her sudden demise cannot be filled in," he added.

The teaching staff, non-teaching staff, students and others were present on the occasion.  The college declared a holiday on Monday.

Another condolence meet was held her residence at Dharmasthal wherein Neeraj Jain, a scholar from Satna in Madhya Pradesh condoled the death of Matrushri.  Dr Veerendra Heggade, Surendra Kumar, Harshendra Kumar, Rajendra Kumar and Padmalatha, the children of Matrusrhi were present on the occasion.

The business concerns and shops at Shri Kshetra Dharmasthal were kept closed on Monday in respect of Matrushri Ratnamma Heggade.


Mangalore: Leaders of All Major Religions Join in Paying Homage to Matrushri at Hotel Woodlands

Mangalore, Jan 25: Leaders from all major religions and walks of life joined in paying rich tributes to Matrushri Ratnamma Heggade during the public condolence meeting held at Hotel Woodlands here on Tuesday January 24 evening.

Deputy commissioner Dr H V Parshwanath, Western Range IGP K S Suresh Babu, SP B Dayanand, senior litterateur Erya Lakshminarayan Alva, Karnataka Bank chairman Anantakrishna, general manager P Jayaram Bhat, Mangalore Diocese PRO Fr Francis Lewis, Yenepoya Institutions representative Mohammad Kunji, Kateel Durgaparameshwari Temple priest Lakshminarayan Asranna were present on the occasion.

Dr Nagakumar, brother of the late Ratnamma Heggade, Dr Prabhakar Joshi, writer Ratna K Shetty, Vimalamma, daughter of the late Dharmadhikari Manjayya Heggade and Suresh Ballal were also present at the condolence meet.

Dakshina Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura welcomed the gathering on behalf of the organizers.  Local political stalwarts Ivan D'Souza, Tejomaya and others too participated in the condolence meet and paid homage to Matrushri Ratnamma Heggade.
