Mangalore, Jan 24: The Bunder police have arrested 5 persons while trying to sell tiger skin at Car Street here on Monday January 23.

The arrested have been identified as Radhakrishna (28) of Narimogru, Hameed (45) of Emmekere, Kishor (48) of Someshwar and Amarnath (35) and Upendra (45) of Bantwal.  The total value of the seized tiger skin is said to be Rs 2 lac.  A case has been filed against the arrested under the Wildlife Conservation Act.

The initial enquiry has revealed that Upendra and Amarnath bought the tiger skin for Rs 10,000 from a person in Chikamagalur district.

The veterinary doctors later said that the seized tiger skin belongs to the Bengal Tigers.  The skin is entire in shape without any damage owing to which the total of the skin to was high.
