Kundapur, Jan 24:  Thieves broke into two temples in Hattiangady near here, and decamped with cash and ornaments on the deities, on Sunday January 22 night.

The thieves gained access to the Eishwar Temple by breaking open the door lock and also stole nearly Rs. 2,000 cash from the renovation donation box.  However, they failed in their attempt to steal cash from the main alms box of the temple.

Though the thieves broke into the Jattigaraya Temple, they did not succeed in stealing the valuable items.
