Bangalore, Jan 20: Embroiled in the political turmoil in Karnataka following a section of the JD(S) MLAs aligning with the BJP to form an alternative Government, Chief Minister N Dharam Singh today offered to quit the post to resolve the crisis, if the party high command desired.

Talking to newspersons at his residence here, he said he was fed up with the political developments in running the coalition Government. He was ready to quit the post if such a situation arose to end the present political impasse.

''Any miracle may still take place before January 27 (by when Governor T N Chaturvedi had asked him to prove his majority on the floor of the House. Just wait and see,'' he said, exuding confidence.

Mr Singh said he was in constant touch with former Prime Minister and JD (S) National President H D Deve Gowda and discussed with him the latest political developments.

Asked whether he intended to talk to Mr Gowda's son and party State Working President H D Kumaraswamy, who was leading the rebel group, he said there was no such proposal.
