Mangalore, Jan 20: M Vedkumar has been elected president of Billavar Association during the annual general body meeting of the association held here recently.
Later speaking to the reporters, the new president Vedkumar said that the association would strive to identify itself with all sections of the community. "As an association we would like to encourage the economically backward students to continue their education. We would provide all necessary held to such so that they continue their education. A students fund will soon be established and scholarships too will be introduced by the association.," he added.
The other office bearers elected during the meeting are:
Vice president: Bhaskar C Amin
General Secretary: C K Suvarna
Joint Secretary: Baby Kunder
Treasurer: M Ramesh Bangera.
Along with them 20 members were elected to the working committee too.
