Mangalore, Jan 5: A protest march was jointly organized by KSRTC employees, Dalit Sangharsha Samiti, Hind Mazdoor Sangh and Dalit Hitarakshana Samiti recently, seeking immediate fulfilment of their demands, in a memorandum submitted to the deputy commissioner.

Addressing the gathering following the protest, Praveen Kumar, district general of the All India Trade Union Congress, said that the KSRTC is incurring huge losses owing to the unlawful means adopted by the contract carriage buses.

He alleged that the contract carriage buses halt at various places, stirring the passengers to travel in their buses, by impeding them to board KSRTC buses. Although a complaint had been sent to Lokayukta, there was no result of it, he said.

He also alleged that there was a plot to force government organizations to shut down, and if it happens, employees at the lowest level would be the most affected, he said.
