Rain, hailstorms expected in Delhi


New Delhi, Feb 15 (IANS): Overcast skies with light showers in some areas greeted Delhiites Friday morning as the minimum temperature settled two notches above average at 12.7 degrees Celsius. The Met office has forecast rain and possibly hailstorms towards the evening.

"The skies will be partly cloudy through the day...Thundershowers accompanied by hail are expected in the evening," said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.

The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 21 degrees Celsius, added the IMD official.

Humidity recorded at 8.30 a.m. was 83 percent.

Thursday's maximum temperature was 26.7 degrees Celsius - three notches above average for the season, while the minimum temperature was average for this time of the season at 10.2 degrees Celsius.
